Bristol Accent Note: The Bristol accent is quite distinctive - we say "boy" as "boy," "no" as "nar," and have a singing quality to our speech. Bristol is incredibly creative and alternative. We were one of the first UK cities to declare ourselves a "City of Science," and our music scene (trip-hop was born here) is legendary. We say "alright" as a greeting!

The Clifton Suspension Bridge is even more impressive than I expected. Standing in the middle of that span over the Avon Gorge, you can really appreciate Brunel's engineering genius. The views are stunning - we spent an hour just taking photos. The walk down to the viewpoint near Clifton Zoo gave us the classic shot.

The Banksy street art tour was the highlight of my trip. Our guide was so knowledgeable about both the art and Bristol's history. Seeing "The Mild Mild West" in person and learning the story behind it was fascinating. Stokes Croft has incredible energy - it's like an open-air art gallery everywhere you look.

SS Great Britain was absolutely phenomenal - I'm an engineer and this ship is incredible. Seeing the original iron hull, the propeller, and learning about Brunel's vision was thrilling. The Being Brunel museum added so much context. We spent nearly four hours there and could have stayed longer.

The M Shed museum was fascinating - I learned so much about Bristol's history as a major port. The harbor ferry was a perfect way to see the city from the water. The restored harbor area is beautiful, and the floating restaurants were perfect for lunch with a view.

The day trip to Bath was perfect - it's only 15 minutes by train! The Roman Baths were absolutely incredible - walking around those ancient pools where Romans bathed 2,000 years ago gave me goosebumps. The Royal Crescent is so elegant. Bristol makes a great base for exploring the southwest.

Southville's Brighton Beach mural is so cool - that colorful photo of beach huts is incredibly photogenic. The whole area has such a creative vibe. I loved exploring the independent shops along North Street too. Bristol has so much character - it's got the creativity of Berlin with a very British charm.
