Geordie Accent Note: The Geordie accent is one of Britain's most distinctive - we say "be" as "bee," "see" as "see," and "no" as "na." We call everyone "pet" or "hinny." The famous phrase "Geordie" refers to anyone from Newcastle or the surrounding area. We say "alright pet?" as a greeting, and we're known for being the friendliest people in England!

The Angel of the North is absolutely awe-inspiring - it's so much bigger than I expected. Standing next to that massive steel figure, you feel so small! The views from the top of the keep at Newcastle Castle were incredible too - 360 degrees of the city.

Hadrian's Wall was a dream come true for this history buff. Walking along the actual Roman wall that soldiers patrolLed nearly 2,000 years ago was incredible. The fort at Vindolanda was fascinating - the preserved wooden tablets with soldiers' personal messages were extraordinary.

Tynemouth was a perfect day trip - the priory ruins are so atmospheric, and the beach is beautiful. We had the best fish and chips watching the waves roll in. The market was brilliant too - found some amazing vintage treasures. Newcastle's metro made it so easy to get to.

Newcastle's nightlife is legendary for a reason! The Bigg Market area has incredible energy - so many pubs and clubs in one place. The people were so friendly, even when we were clearly tourists. Jesmond was perfect for a more relaxed evening. Can't believe how cheap the drinks were compared to London!

Grey Street is absolutely stunning - the Victorian architecture is so grand and elegant. Walking down that slope with the theatre on one side and the monument on the other felt like stepping back in time. The Great North Museum was excellent - the Egyptian mummies were fascinating!
